How to check a forex broker licence
A licence only protects you if it is real, current and held by the company you actually sign with.
How to verify a broker licence
- Find the exact company name and licence number in the client agreement or the website footer of the broker.
- Open the official register of that regulator (links below) and search by licence number or company name.
- Check that the company name, status and website domain on the register match the broker you are dealing with.
- Watch for clone firms: a fake website that copies the name and licence number of a real company. If the domain is not on the register, do not deposit.
- Remember that a group can have several companies. Your protection depends on the company you sign with.
